Culture

The University holds artistic events of national and international relevance such as concert series, cinema cycles, plays, art exhibits, jazz and folk music shows. Its main campus hall, Aula Magna, inaugurated in 1941 can hold 1,250 people. Auditoriums in the other campuses and branches of the university welcome well-known music and theatre companies as well as artists from different countries each year.

The university radio station (FM 99.7 MHz - AM 1.450 Khz) was created in 1937, as the first university radio station in Chile and Latin America. Tday, it is a leader in the broadcasting of artistic, scientific and cultural events of local and international interest.
